As reported today in Haaretz. Tony Blair is featured front and center as one of the mover-and-shakers for this agreement, but the timing is very interesting, what with the seemingly inexorable movement toward a more representative political system in Egypt - which, as Aaron David Miller has highlighted today, means an Egyptian government not nearly as friendly to Israel. The Israelis are worried. Perhaps this new "commitment" signals an imminent spike in the Netanyahu government "making nicer" to Arab Palestinians, perhaps to counter rising enthusiasm in the West Bank for the pro-democracy movement in Egypt?
