The martyrdom of "Neda"

via "War in Context" - with link to Robin Wright's essay in Time magazine. The video is compelling, horrific, all too real - and as Wright notes, her martyrdom and the subsequent mourning provide a sense of renewal for the protestors against the regime.

I believed at first that in time the protests would simmer down. I'm no longer so sure. And I do believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran is somehow turning a corner, but toward what, I don't know. I don't think anybody knows.

And meanwhile, how many of us remain complacent?
